Participants will be introduced to the basics of effective feedback. They will learn the difference between positive and constructive feedback and why it is essential for professional growth.
Ground Rules for Feedback
The training begins by establishing the ground rules for giving and receiving feedback, including respecting diversity of perspectives and creating a safe environment in which feedback can be shared.
Listening Skills for Feedback
Participants practice active listening, specifically in the context of receiving feedback. This includes recognizing the intent behind the feedback and asking clarifying questions.
Empathy & Emotional Intelligence:
Training in how to show empathy when giving feedback. Participants learn to take into account the feelings of others and how emotional intelligence can make their feedback more effective.
Practical Exercises
Role plays and scenarios where participants practice giving and receiving feedback. Scenarios can range from work-related situations to personal development conversations.
Nonverbal Communication in Feedback
Instruction on how nonverbal cues can enhance or undermine the message. Participants learn how to use their body language to support their words.
Dealing with Difficult Reactions
Participants learn strategies to effectively deal with defensive reactions or negativity when giving or receiving feedback.
Feedback and Evaluation
